I’ve been in love with music since the day my uncle walked into our house with a keyboard. It wasn’t meant for me, of course. He’d bought it for his wife’s nephew. But the music doesn’t check the name on the box. A few months later I had a keyboard of my own, and I grew up learning other people’s songs by ear, until the road led me to Canada.

That’s where I met Siavash. Together we put out sixty, seventy songs, and somewhere in there we started something: the first generation of Persian rap. Listen to interviews with some of the biggest names in the game today, and you’ll hear our names come up as the ones who showed the way. I take no credit. The seed knows nothing of the forest.

It’s been a few years now. Siavash and I still sit down together at least once a month, but the studio has been quiet and the songs have been waiting. Well, I’m not going anywhere. I’ll be there.
